Dynamic Planner, the UK’s preferred digital risk profiling and asset allocation investment service, has boosted the international expertise of its Investment Committee with the addition of American Chief Investment Officer, David Goerz.

David is currently CEO and CIO of Strategic Frontier Management, which he founded in 2015 to provide global tactical and strategic asset allocation portfolio solutions and investment strategy consultancy. In his previous role, David was Head of Investment Strategy and Risk Management for AIMCo, one of Canada’s largest asset managers of pension and sovereign wealth funds with C$85bn under management. He has more than 28 years of global investment experience in senior investment and portfolio manager roles, including as CIO since 2002 for firms including MUFG Union Bank’s HighMark Capital Management, Morningstar Associates, and mPower. David has a distinguished track record managing a range of investment strategies including global strategic and tactical asset allocation, global equities, global bonds, and currency management. He has also chaired investment and asset allocation committees for over two decades, beginning with Wellington Management in 1997.

The move reunites David with Dynamic Planner CEO Ben Goss after the pair worked together at mPower in San Francisco, California in 2002.

Of David Goerz’s appointment, Dynamic Planner Investment Committee chair Abhi Chatterjee said: “David brings to the Committee enormous practical experience of managing portfolios, both from an institutional and a retail point of view. With globalisation a reality and major worldwide themes affecting our investments – much more than previously – David vitally adds that international viewpoint and perspective. It’s going to be incredibly exciting moving forward.”

Chris Jones, Proposition Director, Dynamic Planner said: “David will bring a wider international perspective and genuine heavyweight credibility and experience. With Dynamic Planner helping to risk assess all kinds of people and all kinds of potential solutions, it feels right that we seek expertise from beyond just the UK.”

Of his new appointment, David Goerz said: “It is an honour to join the Investment Committee at Dynamic Planner and support continued innovation at a leading UK financial services company. “I have long had interest in the application of financial technology to provide personalised, independent digital investment advice since Ben Goss and I first worked together at mPower in 2002. The Investment Committee brings together leading experts with varied breadth of expertise that will be a privilege to engage with.”
