People and Recruitment Manager

Elly Gallagher is People & Recruitment Manager at Dynamic Planner. She is responsible for Dynamic Planner’s People function, including recruitment of talent and is also involved closely with employee engagement, strategy and HR projects. Previously, Elly spent more than 16 years with Auto Trader UK, working in various HR roles as the business transitioned from print to digital. When she left Auto Trader UK, she was a HR Business Partner for the Sales Division. Elly is MCIPD qualified and achieved her diploma in 2002 while working full-time. She has also studied at the Henley Business School.

Ben Goss BSc MA is CEO of Dynamic Planner and heads the Executive Management Team. He is an award-winning entrepreneur, with more than 20 years’ experience at the forefront of financial services. Ben co-founded Distribution Technology (DT) in 2003 to apply the lessons he has learned about how FinTech can be used to support the provision of high quality, suitable investments and advice to all through advice firms. Dynamic Planner has grown to become the leading provider of risk and asset allocation-based investment process to IFAs.

Previously, in 1998, he co-founded Sort, the UK’s first online investment adviser. Sort took off, delivering regulated advice to more than 1,000 people a day before being sold to the largest online adviser in the US in 2000. In setting up Sort, Ben qualified as a financial adviser. Previously, Ben was a strategy consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

He studied at the University of Bradford in the UK and Indiana University in the US where he was a MacArthur Foundation Scholar. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Society of Arts.

Ben is a former Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and winner of the Deloitte UK Fast 50, which recognises the 50 fastest-growing UK tech companies. He has been widely quoted in the trade and national press including The Times, The Financial Times and The Daily Telegraph, and he has blogged for The Huffington Post. He is the author of Catching the FinTech Wave, published in 2017, a guide to adopting FinTech and transforming financial planning firms. He is a regular speaker at industry events, including the Treasury’s International FinTech Conference on his passion for helping advice firms deliver suitable investments and advice using Dynamic Planner.

Chris Jones Propositions Director at Dynamic Planner

Proposition Director

Chris Jones is Proposition Director at Dynamic Planner. He is responsible for Dynamic Planner’s investment process proposition and for clients ensuring investment suitability through Dynamic Planner’s investment process. He leads Dynamic Planner’s 14-strong team of analysts and qualified investment professionals.

Chris is a member of the Executive Management Team and ensures that the investment expertise is effectively transmitted through the Dynamic Planner application, so that it is usable and understandable by advisers and their end clients.

Previously, Chris built and ran investment propositions for Intrinsic, Blueprint and Bluefin, and was a member of the product and technical team at Bradford & Bingley.

He has more than 25 years’ industry experience and as both a Chartered and Certified Financial Planner, brings a key financial planning and client perspective to the business.

Piers Lawson - Chief Technical Officer

Chief Technology Officer

Piers Lawson is Chief Technology Officer at Dynamic Planner. He is responsible for the software architecture and the infrastructure on which the Dynamic Planner system runs. Piers has more than 25 years’ industry experience having previously worked for GEC Marconi Electronic Systems, Sony Broadcast & Professional and CSC. He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in electrical electronic engineering from the University of Bradford. He is a registered European Engineer and a Chartered Engineer with the IET (Institution of Engineering & Technology).
Nick Lee - Director of Business Development at Dynamic Planner

Nick Lee

Director of Business Development

Nick Lee is Director of Business Development at Dynamic Planner. He is responsible for Dynamic Planner’s Client Success and Business Development teams and wider strategic development. Previously, Nick was Managing Director of AXA Wealth’s Self Investor business, as well as a senior member of the IFA business.

He spent more than a decade at AXA from 2006-17 where he held a number of key positions, including Head of Strategic Partnerships and Head of Corporate Relationships. Prior, he led the development of the Professional Edge service from Winterthur - a ground-breaking service which supported firms looking to adopt fee-based advice in advance of RDR.

Nick has a master’s degree in business administration and management (MBA) from the University of Bath and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Yasmina Siadatan - Head of Marketing

Head of Marketing

Yasmina Siadatan is Head of Marketing at Dynamic Planner. She and her team are responsible for Dynamic Planner’s marketing and communications strategy which includes branding and driving awareness throughout the retail investment industry.

Previously, as Creative Director of Start Up Loans, Yasmina headed marketing and communications for the government’s flagship scheme which provided access to finance for small businesses.

She worked for Lord Sugar in 2009 having won the fifth series of BBC One’s The Apprentice, heading up his pre-eminent tech and digital media organisation and overseeing product marketing and advertising sales to blue chip organisations.

Following that she was headhunted by James Caan of Dragons’ Den fame to help run his private equity organisation. She graduated in economic history from the London School of Economics.

David Wadsworth - Chief Operating Officer

Chief Operating Officer

David Wadsworth is Chief Operating Officer at Dynamic Planner. He is responsible for Dynamic Planner’s product development and implementation teams, and client account management and support alongside the operations team. He began his career at NatWest bank, which he joined as a graduate, specialising in project management.

In 2000, he joined Fiserv (Europe) as Programme Manager. By 2004, he had been appointed to the Fiserv Board as Delivery Director, responsible for providing complex banking systems and solutions, including bespoke modifications, substantial integrations and customer migration projects. He graduated from Queen Mary University London in civil engineering.

Chris Winfield - Finance Director

Finance Director

Chris Winfield is Finance Director at Dynamic Planner. In addition to his financial responsibilities, he also looks after the people, commercial and contract management aspects of the business. Chris trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton and moved into industry at an early stage in his career. He went on to develop a track record of achievement within the material automation and IT services sector.

Chris gained significant board level experience at Siemens, operating in a number of senior financial roles. He was also the North Europe CFO at Dematic, where he successfully led teams in a private equity environment. In addition to his ICAEW qualification, Chris has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of the West of England.

Abhimanyu Chatterjee - Head of Asset Risk Modelling

Abhimanyu Chatterjee is Head of Asset and Risk Modelling at Dynamic Planner. Abhi leads Dynamic Planner’s team of analysts, who are responsible for asset allocation and for the Dynamic Planner risk model. He also chairs the Investment Committee.

Previously, Abhi headed up investment risk and qualitative research teams at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Invesco and the BT Pension Scheme. He has also managed money for hedge funds. Abhi completed his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Jadavpur University in India before achieving a master’s in business management (finance) at the University of Reading. He completed a PhD in finance also at the University of Reading and maintains a close relationship with the university.

Jason Dewar - Head of Fund Research

Jason Dewar is Head of Fund Research on the Dynamic Planner Asset and Risk Model team. He is responsible for Dynamic Planner Fund Research, which is an independent rating service covering all UK listed OEICS and Unit Trusts. Jason also sits on the Dynamic Planner Investment Committee, which has oversight of all activities of the Asset and Risk Model team. Previously, Jason was Head of Research and Technical Services at Sesame Bankhall Group. He has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services.
Jim Henning - Head of Investment Services

Head of Investment Services

Jim Henning is Head of Investment Services at Dynamic Planner. He is responsible for the development of the Dynamic Planer risk profiling business, the Risk Target Managed service and also various research solutions for both asset manager and adviser clients. This also includes reach into international markets where investment suitability is a key focus.

Jim has more than 25 years’ experience specialising in investment platform proposition strategy, design, fund governance mechanisms and promotional support. Prior to Dynamic Planner, Jim was Funds Marketing and Research Manager for Friends Provident International, and held senior marketing roles within a life insurance company background. He has a degree in economics from the University of Birmingham and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Chris Brooks

Professor of Finance and Director of Research (ICMA)

Chris Brooks is Professor of Finance and Director of Research at the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) Centre at Henley Business School.

He was formerly Professor of Finance at Cass Business School, London. Chris has a PhD and a BA in economics and econometrics from the University of Reading.

His areas of research interest include asset pricing, fund management, behavioural finance, financial history, and econometric analysis and modelling in finance and real estate. He is published widely in these fields and has authored more than a hundred articles in leading academic and practitioner journals.

Chris is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is well known as the author of the first introductory-level econometrics textbook targeted at finance students, ‘Introductory Econometrics for Finance’ (Cambridge University Press, 2014), now in its third edition and which has now sold more than 60,000 copies worldwide.

David Goerz

David Goerz

David Goerz has more than 27 years of global investment management experience in various leadership and portfolio management roles, including as Chief Investment Officer since 2002. He has chaired investment and asset allocation committees since 1997, while managing various equity and global asset allocation strategies for institutional, mutual fund and high net worth clients worldwide as portfolio manager since 1991.

His distinguished track record spans global tactical asset allocation, currency management, quantitative US and global equity strategies, global bonds, long-short, and venture capital. He has pioneered innovations in strategic policy, portfolio optimization, return forecasting, hedging / derivatives and risk management, as well as implementing the first known completion and transition fund management mandates in 1994.

David is CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Strategic Frontier Management, which he founded in 2015 to provide global tactical and strategic asset allocation portfolio solutions and investment strategy advisory consulting for asset owners, family offices, trusts and their investment advisers.

Previously, David was EVP, Head of Investment Strategy and Risk Management for Alberta Investment Management (AIMCo) with $85bn under management for agencies of the Province of Alberta. He chaired both the Management Investment Committee and Tactical Risk Allocation Committee.

He has also held Chief Investment officer or senior investment / portfolio management roles for HighMark Capital Management / MUFG Union Bank (SVP, Chief Investment Officer), mPower Advisors (SVP, Chief Investment Officer), Morningstar Associates (SVP, Chief Investment Officer), Wellington Management Company (VP, Director of Global Asset Allocation Research and Portfolio Manager), TSA Capital Management (SVP, Senior Investment Strategist and Research Director), and ARCO Investment Management (Senior Quantitative Analyst and Portfolio Manager). Before embarking on his investment career, he was a Research Engineer in Operations Research Engineering for General Dynamics.

David has served on the Board of Directors for Axioma Inc. since 2004 and is Chair of the Compensation Committee. He also served on the Board of Directors for Mismi Inc. (2010-14), the Board of Directors for Bloom Energy (2014), the Board of Directors for Institutional Investors Roundtable (2014-15) and the Strategic Advisory Board of the CFA Society of San Francisco (2007-13). He received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA in applied mathematics and a master’s in operations research engineering from Stanford University.
